Born in Southend-on-Sea, Angie became a model, and then Bunny hostess at the Playboy club in London. She then went to New York to model, before moving on to Los Angeles as a model and personal trainer.
It was love at first sight when she met George Best at a dinner party in Los Angeles in 1975 when he was signing to play for the Los Angeles Aztecs. S he moved back to London in 1976 with George, but his drinking and womanising were getting out of control. Angie went back to Los Angeles, but George followed and persuaded her to marry him on 24 January 1978. George was drunk at the wedding ceremony and spent the wedding night drinking and gambling. They had one son, Calum, in 1981, but George's continual drinking and affairs eventually split them up, and Angie returned to Los Angeles with Calum to be away from George for the good of her son. The couple divorced via an annulment in 1986.
In the early 80s, shortly after her very public split-up, Angie went back full-time to her fitness career, training celebrities such as Cher, Sharon Stone and Daryl Hannah. She also produced her own workout videos and appeared in television shows in a series of specials for Europe's SKY Television, British Telecom's Lifestyle channel, and Europa Cable Television. She has since written a series of books for over 40's women, including "A Change For the Best" which focuses on the menopause. She also wrote her her autobiography "George and Me: My Autobiography", the hook line for which was: "I didn't realise that six years of marriage would last a lifetime."
Although George put her through a lot, Angie admitted: "I remain good friends with George. He is the only man I ever loved."George Best died in November 2005, Angie was the only woman at his graveside – she attended with a single red rose.

She had an older brother who became Field Marshal Sir Evelyn Wood.
Although known to her friends as Katie O'Shea, Parnell's opponents called her "Kitty O'Shea" because at that time "kitty", was also a slang term for a prostitute. She wrote a biography of Parnell in 1914 it was published as by "Katharine O'Shea (Mrs Charles Stewart Parnell)" so that may well have been her preference.
Katharine was already married to Captain William O'Shea , when she first met Parnell in 1880. Parnell was the leader of the Parliamentary Irish Party in Westminster. He was a powerful and charismatic leader, worshipped by the Irish, feared by the English, the man marked by God and Destiny to bring Independence to Ireland. Captain O'Shea knew about the affair, but kept quiet for several years. The scandal broke in 1890 when Willie O'Shea filed suit for divorce from Katie citing Parnell, as co-respondent. Katharine and Parnell married soon after her divorce from Captain O'Shea, in a registry office, as not one of the Vicars would marry them
The people of England and Ireland were shocked and outraged, their prejudice against divorce, further enhanced by the press who blamed Katie as the adulterous seducer of a gallant leader. But it was the end for Parnell. The Irish Catholics would not accept divorce, pressure was put on Parnell to give up his leadership of the Irish Parliamentary Party and support began to fall away from him in Ireland. Gladstone then abandoned the Irish/Liberal pact and jettisoned the forthcoming Irish Home Rule Bill. Betrayed, defeated, sick, his Political life's work in tatters, Parnell died with Katie beside him on 16th October 1891. He was only forty five years old.

The Irish Catholics would not accept divorce, pressure was put on Parnell to give up his leadership of the Irish Parliamentary Party and support began to fall away from him in Ireland. 7. Katharine Parnell (O’Shea) (Braintree) Katharine O'Shea (born Katharine Wood in Braintree, Essex) was also known as Katie O'Shea, Kitty O'Shea or Katharine Parnell following her second marriage (1845-5th February 1921). She was an English woman whose relationship over many years with Charles Stewart Parnell (the Irish MP destined to bring Home Rule to Ireland, Ireland's "Uncrowned King.") eventually caused his political downfall.
Their love affair is one of the great romances of all time; although it ended in death and grief it shook two nations. They continued affair for years, with Katie living in several rented houses.
Captain O'Shea knew about the affair, but kept quiet for several years. The scandal broke in 1890 when Willie O'Shea filed suit for divorce from Katie citing Parnell, as co-respondent. His reasons for filing for divorce at the time he did are a matter for speculation. Their relationship was already common knowledge among politicians, but once public knowledge of the affair broke out, it created a huge scandal which led to Parnell's being deserted by his own party and to his downfall.
Katie lived the rest of her life in poor emotional health without Parnell, cared for by one of her daughters.

12. Annika Reeder (Harlow)
Annika Louise Reeder was born September 28, 1979, Harlow, Essex, Great Britain) is a British gymnast. She is one of Great Britain's most accomplished gymnasts in history. She was the first gymnast from Great Britain to compete in two Olympic Games, in 1996 and 2000. Just like her sister, Kirsty, she started gymnastics young – at the age of three in 1982. She trained at the South Essex Gym Club under coach Rod Smith. She made her international debut at the 1993 Junior European Championships and entered the senior ranks in the following year.
Amongst her achievements are two Olympic Games, five World Championships, and three Commonwealth Games gold medals from 1994 and 1998. Annika was also a European floor finalist in 1994, and vault finalist in 1998. She won the Senior British Championship twice, and was runner up four times.
Katharine O'Shea (born Katharine Wood in Braintree, Essex) was also known as Katie O'Shea, Kitty O'Shea or Katharine Parnell following her second marriage (1845-5th February 1921). She was an English woman whose relationship over many years with Charles Stewart Parnell (the Irish MP destined to bring Home Rule to Ireland, Ireland's "Uncrowned King.") eventually caused his political downfall.
Katie lived the rest of her life in poor emotional health without Parnell, cared for by one of her daughters.
