Second reply from Clinique RE: their use of palm oil

Second reply from Clinique RE: their use of palm oil

My comments: I am really quite upset to hear that some of their products will contain unsustainable palm oil derivatives, they are not members of the RSPO (for what that is worth) and they are currently doing nothing to find out about the source of the palm oil derivatives that they use. I am further upset that they currently do still test on animals for certain products. To be honest, law or not, if the Body Shop can produce all types of cosmetics and toiletries without testing on animals, then why can’t Clinique and all the other Cosmetic Companies do the same? I wish I had the answers, and I hope one of them will tell us in further detail….. Continue reading Second reply from Clinique RE: their use of palm oil

Cadbury and their use of Palm oil….

Feedback from my replies on palm oil use

Under each letter I have sent to the various Supermarkets & product manufacturers regarding their palm oil use, you will see the replies from some of them so far, and I would like to say that, although some of them are members of the round table for sustainable palm oil (RSPO) and state they are doing their bit (some more than others), that membership of the RSPO (www.rspo.org  )does not mean that they are not perpetuating the problem with the continual purchase and use of products containing unsustainable palm oil. My letter to my MP Bob Spink

Dear Dr Spink,

Re: Palm oil content in our everyday products

I have been researching and campaigning for the plight of the Orangutan’s of Borneo and Sumatra and I am trying to educate people as to the danger of their imminent extinction which is predicted to occur within around a decade due to the many problems facing them in those Countries. Letters sent on 14th/15th May 2009 regarding palm oil

Please see my letters by clicking on the relevent heading:

Under each letter I have sent, you will see the replies from some of them so far, and I would like to say that, although they are members of the round table for sustainable palm oil and are doing their bit (some more than others), that their timescales for swapping to sustainable palm oil use is too far in the future – therefore, please do write to them.  If something is not done sooner than their timescales, then the orangutans will become extinct!  Every day that this is not in place, orangutans are tortured, killed, and their homes disappearing, and the environment is being harmed by the cutting down of the rainforest and the indigenous peoples are losing a lot too!

Why dont you send some today, as these people will not know you care unless you let them know- see HERE
