Olly’s Mum, Vicky Lynn

, has been updating me with news on Olly….

I have been asked where to send fan mail to Olly Murs and this can be sent to ‘Olly Murs Carraways, Witham Essex’

Vicky Lynn also said ‘He definitely is not at home and we didn’t pick him up from the house on Monday (after the X Factor final). We did pop over to take most of his stuff and it was lovely to actually sit with our son and have a lovely chat without camera’s in our face. I have noticed lots of gigs that Continue reading Olly Murs updates and dates for his concerts over December/January

Talented Essex Boy Olly Murs comes second in the X Factor final 2009!

A happy Olly Murs copyright Sandra M Dean

Finally it is the end of the X Factor 2009 on this day (Sunday 13th December 2009)! We are all a little sad about the show ending, but it has done so with our favourite performer coming second so we are really happy! Olly Murs you deserve it but for us you are the winner of this talent contest that looks for the ‘X Factor’ as you have just that. Never mind that you didnt win.  I parcially blame Simon Cowell for not supporting you properly in the weeks leading up to the final, as he seemed to back Joe and Danyl far more.

Although there were some good singers in the competition this year, I think that a pop star/X Factor spells a ‘performer’ not a stand still ballad singer. We have enough of those, so even though Joe has a great voice, the soul voice and dancing talent of Olly Murs won it for us for the last 3 months. The Continue reading Talented Essex Boy Olly Murs comes second in the X Factor final 2009!

Oh my gosh, tonight’s X Factor was just fantastic! Olly Murs is through to the final – woo hoo! He deserves it! Sadly Stacey Solomon didn’t get through to the Final tomorrow, but third place was a great place for our Essex Girl!

Olly was fabulous – ‘Superstition’ which got him through to his first audition, was 100 times better! The judges agreed saying:

Louie Walsh said he has “Definitely got the X Factor!

Dannii Minogue said “Spectacular…. Brilliant!”

Cheryl Cole said he is an “Entertainer…. You thoroughly deserve your place in the final”

Simon Cowell added that Olly was the “Best risk I’ve ever taken…. On the biggest night you gave the performance of your life”

And then the duet with Robbie Williams, well, what a hit! They sang together in unison and were the perfect match. Olly IS the next Robbie, as they are so Continue reading Stacey Solomon comes third with Olly Murs through to final 2 of X Factor for Essex!

Olly Murs Homecoming in Colchester is a success for Essex

Olly Murs was accompanied by his X Factor mentor Simon Cowell today on his homecoming trip to Essex!

Olly spent nearly the whole day today away from the X Factor house, to take a trip back to Essex to see his fans, friends and family. He went back to his Mum’s (Vicky Lynn) house in Witham, for a visit and X Factor judge, Simon Cowell even came with him, so that was a treat for his family!  They also went to Notley High School in Witham, where Olly went as a child and wooed everyone there – judging by some of the comments on my site, it appears that Olly perfomed (sung) there too!

Olly’s Mum, Vicky-Lynn, told me:

Olly went in a helicopter from London to Notley High School, Flying over the house about 4 times (that was amazing) he sang a few songs at the school. Then they arrived here at home. The neighbours were waiting for his arrival, which was brilliant as they only kept it to themselves so we didn’t have loads of other people arriving which made it very personal to them all. Simon came in for a lovely chat and I made him his favourite “butterscotch Angel Delight” and a Mug of tea, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Simon met all my close family and even our littlest member of the family Molly our dog! It will be a weekend and week we will never forget in a long time. Mamma Dels in Witham made us a selection of various Sandwiches which were absolutely scrummy, we would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a selection of sandwiches made or even their wicked Olly Breakfast. All in All a Fab day.

Well, that did sound like a great day for all…..

I went along to the event in Colchester, at the Charter Hall (Colchester Leisure World) in Cowdray Avenue, and we were met with a huge crowd already waiting for Olly’s arrival at around 7pm. The ITV crew were there of Continue reading Olly Murs & Simon Cowell Homecoming is a success for Essex! With photos!

X Factor, Stacey Solomon heads home to Dagenham, Essex, with Dannii Minogue!

X Factor Essex girl contestant, Stacey Solomon, came back to Essex yesterday for her ‘homecoming’, along with judge Dannii Minogue who has been practising her “Essex slang”. For a day out in Dagenham, this was quite a change for Dannii, who has never visited the area before, but she wanted to go along for moral support as they have become close since Stacey has been Continue reading X Factor, Stacey Solomon heads home to Dagenham, Essex, with Dannii Minogue!

Olly Murs in one off concert this week in Colchester, Essex

The tickets to the gig which starts at 6pm on the 9th December 2009, were available from 8am this morning, and were quickly snapped up by eager fans, who were allowed just two tickets per person on a first come first served basis – so it was a sell out in no time at all!

Stacey Solomon is through to the X Factor Final!

Stacey Solomon has impressed the viewers again this week, and has made it through to the Final of X Factor.

The first performance of the night was themed and had to be a Michael Jackson song. They chose ‘The way you make me feel’. Stacey wore a very sexy number – a black jacket and hat, with her legs on show in black tights. She looked really different, and she danced a little as well as keeping up with Continue reading Stacey Solomon is through to the X Factor Final!

Olly Murs is through to the final (3) of X Factor!

Olly Murs is through to the X Factor finals and he deserves it!  He was told first out of the 4 finalists and he looked really overwhelmed, with a few tears!

Olly’s first song, ‘Can you feel it’ by Michael Jackson, was, for us, the best performance of the night. It was fun, involved energetic dancing, and is a popular song. Although some of the other ballads were good, I prefer something more upbeat to listen to on a Saturday night, and this one won it for me.

All the judges (Dannii Minogue, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louie Walsh) exclaimed that Olly ‘should be in the Final next week’ and advised all viewers to vote for Olly. Simon commented that Olly is the most hardworking contestant out of the final 4 and he is really impressed by his dedication to practice and rehearsals. Olly missed out on being best man yesterday (Saturday 5th December 2009) to his twin brother, Ben Murs (who got married in Chelmsford, Essex) as he had to rehearse and Simon refused to allow him to go to the wedding during the day. I guess this shows Olly’s dreams of ‘being a pop star’ are strong and Continue reading Olly Murs is through to the final (3) of X Factor!

Olly has the most fans on facebook, photos from his home town Witham (Essex) and more…

…. I wanted to share with you some of the local support Olly Murs is getting in his town of Witham – The George Pub, which is his local and where he has performed, has ‘VOTE OLLY’ posters in it’s windows, and another local shop has a ‘support Olly Murs’ poster up. Just a bit of the local support, but the newspapers and locals have also been very supportive of our Essex boy!

I can see from the X Factor website today that Olly has loads more fans than the other 3 contestants, with Stacey coming second. Olly has over 204 thousand Continue reading Olly Murs has the most fans on X Factor Facebook!

Olly Murs through to final 4 of X Factor!

Olly Murs was fantastic this week – showing us two varied performances. Take That’s ballad‘ Love Aint here anymore ‘ was a stripped right back to the song alone, with no dancers – just Olly singing and he made a fabulous job of it.

For his second song, he performed ‘Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting’ as his Elton John choice and as Danni said, it was a ‘knockout’. The song suited him as he was able to sing and dance and all with sexy ladies dancing round him.

The comments were pretty good, but I am still disappointed with Simon Continue reading Olly Murs through to final 4 of X Factor!
